Rekka Movie Review

Yet to be released Vaa Deal is the first directorial venture by Rathina Shiva and the second movie with Vijay Sethupathi – Rekka.Vijay Sethupathi and Lakshmi Menon in the lead. The widespread expectation from the hero for this movie. The film opens with Kabir Khan a deadly gangster killing the brother of another gangster Harish Uttaman who makes a vow to get even. The plot of the story is Vijay Sethupathi as Shiva is the Town’s innocent brave-heart given to rescuing girls forced into marriages.

‘Makkal Selvan’ Vijay Sethupathi makes his trip to Aruval land. we don’t have just one villain. We have two. Action set pieces are elaborate and gravity-defying. Apart from the hero movie has actor Kishore playing a pivotal role.Lakshmi Menon plays a loosu ponnu In a scene, she goes and informs her mother that she’s planning to elope with Shiva. Her mother says “Super. All the best. But make sure you inform grandma before you leave. Lakshmi is so dumb that one tends to wonder if she straddles the spheres of reality and fiction. Harish Uttaman blackmailing the hero to kidnap Lakshmi Menon a minister’s daughter engaged to Kabir Khan from Madurai. What happens next forms the rest of the story. Kishore as a doctor who becomes mentally ill and the girl who plays his lover are two memorable characters in the film.

Rekka has music by D Imman whose music has given pulsating notes. For sake of Makkal Selvan a can watch a film. The childish stunt choreography lets him down big time. Dinesh Krishna’s with his camera has a lot of zooming and zipping work which is well done. Credit should be given to editor Praveen KL for keeping the story moving at a brisk pace. Director Rathina Siva does have a strong core storyline but his seen- a- thousand- times screenplay and average execution leaves a lot to be desired.
