Leonardo DiCaprio to play Persian poet ‘Rumi’ !


Screenwriter David Franzoni who wrote the script for Gladiator has announced his upcoming biographic movie is a controversy for casting Leonardo DiCaprio as Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi. Recently David Franzoni and the Producer Stephen Joel Brown said in an interview about this, DiCaprio is their first choice to play Rumi.

The Oscar award winner said that he work with such kind of biographical movie which presents the Muslim characters in western cinema by charting the life of great Sufi Scholar. People have mentioned their aggressiveness on this topic under the hashtag #RumiWasntWhite.

As these cases were going on. Franzoni, and producer Stephen Joel departures to Istanbul in order to collect related material to the topic. DiCaprio didn’t state his opinion yet on their controversial talk. This movie is expected to get on sets most probably by next year. The Revenant actor DiCaprio has not revealed about his next project.
